Democracy stolen! ECI turned puppet of BJP:- Y S Sharmila Reddy

Vijayawada:- The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Y S Sharmila Reddy Thursday addressed the media in Vijayawada, launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Election Commission of India (ECI) over what she called a massive fake vote scam, exposed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Sharmila said Rahul Gandhi had “detonated a high-voltage hydrogen bomb” by revealing how 25 lakh bogus votes were created in Haryana to secure a BJP victory. She described it as a theft of democracy and alleged that the ECI colluded with the ruling party to manipulate voter rolls. Without the inclusion of these fake votes, she said, the Congress would have won Haryana with a comfortable majority. Y S Sharmila Reddy said, “The BJP came to power in Haryana with a slender margin of only 1.18 lakh votes, a mere 0.7 percent difference in vote share. In every eight votes in Haryana, one is fake. And this manipulation amounted to a daylight robbery of people’s mandate.” She accused the Election Commission of abandoning its constitutional independence and turning into a puppet controlled by the BJP. “Where BJP needs votes, fake ones are added; where it does not, genuine votes are deleted. The Commission has forgotten its duty and moral responsibility, and is acting like another arm of the RSS,” added Sharmila. She further alleged that voter lists were not being disclosed, CCTV footage had been destroyed, and digital data was being withheld to conceal the truth. Calling the incident a grave blow to democracy, she said that institutions across the country had been captured by the BJP. Y S Sharmila Reddy said, “Democracy in India has been murdered, and Rahul Gandhi is fighting to protect it and to defend the Constitution.” Sharmila announced that under the “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chod” campaign, the Andhra Pradesh Congress had collected 17.65 lakh signatures from citizens across all 175 Assembly constituencies. And these signatures would be sent to Delhi to express solidarity with Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against electoral fraud. Thanking the people and Congress workers who participated in the drive, she said the party would continue to fight for justice and stand firmly with the people. “The Congress Party has always been on the side of truth and will not rest until democracy is restored in its full spirit,” Sharmila said.
